The Jersey Petanque Club and The Carrefour Petanque Club Open 2021

Regretfully, the 2021 Open Triples/Doubles has had to be cancelled as per the following communications from the respective club Presidents -

“Given the current state of the pandemic we have come to the reluctant conclusion it will not be possible to run our Open Doubles, as a joint competition with the Carrefour Open Triples, as planned.  Current restrictions will no doubt be eased as vaccination progresses, but there is as yet no realistic timetable as to when or what that will be. We do not know, for example, whether numbers will be restricted, nor if games would need to be modified to meet safe play guidelines. In addition, there are the very real problems that our visitors will have to confront with transport and accommodation.

It is of course our plan, after two cancellations, to hold an Open on the same weekend in 2022 and we very much hope you will be able to join us then.

In the meantime, do keep safe and well.”

Peter Blampied President – Jersey Pétanque Club

"The Carrefour PC is really disappointed that we've had to cancel our Open Triples again this year as we were very much looking forward to welcoming you all to our new home.

Hopefully we will be able to welcome you in 2022 to our new facilities which, subject to a couple of final formalities and Covid restrictions, we will be moving into this spring. Our new terrains will be in the south east of the Island at Grouville Football Club with whom we are in the process of finalising a long-term partnership.

More importantly, stay safe and well. All the best until next year."
